I have recovered well enough to spend time in the office every day this past week, but I look forward to a long weekend off in celebration of the Fourth of July.
Starting June 2 and running through September 16, the Explore Elmhurst Express Trolley offers visitors and residents a FREE 30-minute ride connecting downtown Elmhurst, the Spring Road Business District and York & Vallette Business District.
Elmhurst’s Umbrella Sky Project made its official debut in the Schiller Walkway in downtown Elmhurst the evening of April 29, with additional displays going up along north York Street and outside the Elmhurst Art Museum over the next two weeks, respectively.

The Elmhurst St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee on which I serve will stage its 26th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade down Spring Road on Saturday, March 4, at 12 noon, stepping off north from Wilson Street and marching to the former Silverado Grill.

On Friday, November 11, at 10:30 a.m., Elmhurst American Legion THB Post 187, City of Elmhurst, Elmhurst Park District and our Chamber will commemorate Elmhurst’s Veterans Day during their annual ceremony at the Veterans Memorial in Willd Park, followed by a luncheon in the Legion’s Normandy Banquet Room.
