DuPage County Board

The County of DuPage is governed by an elected 19-member Board whose members represent six districts, with the City of Elmhurst in District 1 (north) and District 2 (south).

Park Board of Commissioners

The Elmhurst Park District is a separate property tax-levying governing unit under the leadership of a seven-member Board of Commissioners whose community-elected members serve six-year terms.

Library Board of Trustees

The Elmhurst Public Library is governed by a nine-member citizen Board of Trustees whose members are appointed for three-year terms beginning July 1 by the Mayor with the consent of the Elmhurst City Council.

Voter Information

Except for 28 days prior to an election, Elmhurst residents may register to vote at any time at the City Clerk’s Office, Elmhurst City Hall, 209 North York Street, on Monday through Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

Postal Services

A self-supporting federal agency, the United States Postal Service uses revenue from the sales of stamps and products, not tax dollars, to pay expenses.

Townships

Elmhurst residents are served by two township governments, York and Addison, which provide services mandated by the state and approved by their board of trustees
