ELMHURST, ILL., (April 2, 2013)  Music@Bethel’s final concert of its fourteenth season will showcase the world-class piano talents of its very own artistic director, Jeffrey Panko.  

 The special performance begins at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 28at Bethel United Church of Christ, 315 E. St. Charles Road in Elmhurst. 

The concert will feature music by Bach, two Beethoven sonatas, variations on a theme of Corelli by Rachmaninoff, and a Duruflé trio for piano, flute and viola. 

 

Joining Mr. Panko for the Music@Bethel concert will be Elmhurst resident and Professor of Flute at Wheaton College and Elmhurst College, Jennie Brown, and the Associate Principal Violist of the Lyric Opera Orchestra, Terry Van Valkinburgh.

 

Mr. Panko’s piano concerts have been enjoyed by classical music fans around the world, from Carnegie Hall to Warsaw, Poland. Currently working with his mentor, Chicago Symphony Orchestra pianist Mary Sauer as well as Dr. Robert Holst, Panko has earned top prize awards in competitions including the Society of American Musicians’ Piano Competition and the Frinna Awerbuch International Piano Competition.

 

“We are extremely excited to hear Jeff perform in his first solo concert in many years.” said Rose Fealy, Executive Director.  “His passion for sharing his talents, both as a performer and as the artistic director of this unique concert series is a gift to music devotees throughout Chicagoland.
