The Elmhurst Symphony Orchestra Chamber Series at Mayslake presents its third concert of the season, “Baroque Glories,” at 2:30 pm on Saturday, April 13, 2013, at Mayslake Peabody Estate, 1717 31st St. in Oak Brook.

  This concert offers a not-to-be-missed opportunity to hear renowned Dutch soprano Josefien Stoppelenburg in Handel’s brilliant Gloria.  Re-discovered in the year 2000, this showpiece includes some of the composer’s most virtuosic coloratura passages.  This wonderful afternoon of Baroque music also features Rika Seko, violin, Katherine Carter, violin, Stephen Alltop, harpsichord, and musicians of the Elmhurst Symphony, and includes Handel’s lovely German arias and favorites such as Haydn’s Concerto for Violin and Harpsichord.  Tickets are adults $25; seniors $23; students $7; groups of 10 or more $20 each.  Call 630-941-0202 for tickets and visit www.elmhurstsymphony.org/Content/In-The-News.aspx for information.
