Wintertime Fun Available Dec. 26 – 30 and Sundays in January and February

The Forest Preserve District of DuPage County invites visitors to its Danada Equestrian Center at 3S507 Naperville Road in Wheaton for horse-drawn sleigh rides Dec. 26 – 30 from noon to 2 p.m. and Sundays in January and February from noon to 3 p.m.

The festive sound of jingling bells will put participants in a merry mood as the center’s draft horses pull the sleigh over the fields and through the woods for 15-minute rides. A crackling fire will warm visitors before and after their rides, which depart every 20 minutes. If there is less than 4 inches of snow on the trail, a hay wagons is used instead of a sleigh.

Tickets are available at Danada in the main barn beginning at 11:30 a.m. on days when rides take place and are $5 per adult and $2 for children ages 5 – 12, with children under 5 riding for free. Only cash or checks are accepted. Groups of 15 or more should reserve private sleigh rides, which are scheduled at different times than the public rides. Private group rides include warming fires and can be combined with guided tours of the barn. Fees vary for private rides.

For more information or to make a private group reservation, call the center at 630-668-6012.
