105th Annual Elmhurst Memorial Day Parade

Nearly 70 entries marched in Elmhurst’s 105th Annual Memorial Day Parade through downtown Elmhurst on May 29, as presented by the Elmhurst Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Elmhurst American Legion THB Post 187, the City of Elmhurst and Elmhurst Park District.

The combined Elmhurst Police and Fire Department Color Guard kicks off the 105th Annual Elmhurst Memorial Day Parade through downtown Elmhurst.

The Illinois Army National Guard’s 144th Army Band, which dates back to the American Civil War, marches down York Street during its return parade performance.

Members of Scouts BSA Troop #117B, 117G and Crew #711 carry the Soanish American War and Civil War memorial banners.

The York Community High School Marching Dukes provide musical entertainment.

Member of the West Towns Chorus sang patriotic songs.

The Elmhurst Sentinels Pathfinder Club represents the Elmhurst Seventh Day Adventist Church.

Parade Grand Marshal Russ Caforio, who served in the Vietnam War as a U.S. Army Staff Sergeant, speaks at the Post-Parade Military Ceremony at the Veterans Memorial in Wilder Park.

Former Elmhurst City Council Alderman Mark Mulliner is recognized for his long-time service on the Elmhurst Veterans Commission.

Officers represent each branch of the United States military in the parade, on the grandstand and at the Veterans Memorial.
