Elmhurst American Legion THB Post 187 will honor a number of past and present Elmhurst Chamber of Commerce and Industry members at a Community Appreciation concert in the Normandy Banquet Room and adjoining bar at 310 West Butterfield Road on Saturday, August 12, from 6 to 10 p.m.
The band Lake Effect will perform in concert in the Normandy Room from 7 to 10 p.m.
Tickets can be bought at the door for $20 per person and include hot hors d’oeuvres served in the cash bar starting at 6 p.m.
A ceremony dedicating the atrium to the late Art Ahlgrim of the former Ahlgrim Funeral Home will be staged at 6:30 p.m.
Prior to the concert, the Legion will honor the City of Elmhurst, former Alderman Mark Mulliner, Rich Reichert of Community Bank of Elmhurst, Kasindra Mladenoff of Elmhurst Premier Childcare, Scott and Charity Ahlgrim of the former Ahlgrim Funeral Home and ECCI President and CEO John Quigley for their philanthropic support and volunteer service.
The Legion also will honor three employees for their more than 30 years of service.
Sponsor levels include General at $1,000, Colonel at $750, Lieutenant at $500 and Seargent at $250.
