President’s Message for July 2022
For more than two decades, ECCI has participated as an active and integral member of the West Suburban Chamber of Commerce Executives (WSCCE) peer group serving DuPage County and several neighboring counties.
The ECCI Centennial Celebration NFP’s Capital Campaign officially surpassed its Civic Hall of Fame public memorial fundraising goal of $50,000 in June, thanks to a generous five-figure donation from the 2020 HOF Inductee couple of Scott and Charity Ahlgrim, formerly of Ahlgrim Funeral Home in Elmhurst.
Elmhurst resident Angela Villegas of Lakeside Bank was sworn in as a member of the Elmhurst Chamber of Commerce & Industry’s Board of Directors during the Board’s June 14 meeting in the second-floor Hammersmith Community Room at Community Bank of Elmhurst.
More than 70 entries marched in Elmhurst’s 104th Annual Memorial Day Parade through downtown Elmhurst on May 30, as presented by the Elmhurst Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Elmhurst American Legion THB Post 187, the City of Elmhurst and Elmhurst Park District.
In conjunction with Elmhurst’s 104th Memorial Day Parade, True Patriots Care will stage a patriotic display of some 130 American flags—honoring service members from Elmhurst’s public and private high schools killed in action—in the Wilder Park on the lawn east of the Wilder Mansion from Thursday through Monday, May 26-30.
The 144th Army Band representing the Illinois Army National Guard will make its City of Elmhurst debut marching in Elmhurst’s 104th Annual Memorial Day Parade through downtown Elmhurst on Monday, May 30, stepping off at 9:30 a.m.
Led by Grand Marshal Robert Fonzino, a Vietnam War combat veteran as a First Lieutenant in the United States Army and former resident of Elmhurst, some 75 entries will march in Elmhurst’s 104th Annual Memorial Day Parade through downtown Elmhurst on Monday, May 30, stepping off at 9:30 a.m.
There’s both good and bad news to report regarding America’s recovery from the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Pandemic-induced healthcare crisis and economic downturn, resulting in an 8.5 percent increase in the inflation rate from March of 2021.
Nearly 250 businesspeople and 39 exhibitors from the Elmhurst Chamber of Commerce & Industry and 21 West Suburban Chamber of Commerce Executives peer members participate in the 20th Annual MUlti-Chamber Economic Outlook Luncheon at Ashyana Banquets in Downers Grove on April 19.
