Board of Directors Election
October 1 is the Chamber’s deadline for accepting Board of Director nominations for seven of the 21 three-year terms to be filled in the October election.
Nomination forms and a list of Director duties and responsibilities are available through the Chamber office.
Business After Hours
Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria (110 West Park Avenue), Elmhurst Park District (225 Prospect Avenue) and The Elmhurst Doings (440 East Ogden Avenue, Hinsdale) will co-host the Chamber’s “Pizza, Park & Paper” Business After Hours at the Park District’s Formal Gardens in Wilder Park on Thursday, October 11, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
2001 Fall Luncheon
Illinois Lieutenant Governor Corinne Wood will deliver the Keynote Address at the Chamber’s 2001 Fall Luncheon at the Midwest Conference Center, 401 West Lake Street, Northlake, on Wednesday, October 17, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Cost is $30.00 per person. The luncheon is cosponsored by Ameritech/SBC Global Network (225West Wesley, Wheaton).
Membership Breakfast
Elmhurst Public Schools District 205 (130 West Madison Street) will host the Chamber’s Membership Breakfast at York High School (355 West St. Charles Road) on Wednesday, October 31, from 8:00 to 9:00 p.m.

Newsmakers
Elmhurst College (190 Prospect Avenue) dedicated Illinois Hall in the Sciable Science Center on September 12, finishing a $1.35 million renovation project that created a state-of-the-art lecture and meeting facility. Also dedicated was the science building’s new rooftop observatory, featuring a telescope donated by Alben F. “Pete” Bates of Bates & Bates, Attorneys (120 South Palmer Drive).
