Board of Directors Election
The Chamber is accepting Board of Director nominations for seven of the 21 three-year terms to be filled in the October election. Nomination forms and a list of Director duties and responsibilities are available at the Chamber office.
Any member in good standing can nominate himself/herself or another member in good standing by submitting said nomination in writing to the Nominating Committee in car of the Chamber no later than Monday, October 1, signed by the nominator and two seconding nominees who are also members in good standing.
The Nominating Committee will meet at the Chamber office on Monday, October 8, at 8:00 a.m. to certify the nomination forms before submitting a ballot of candidates for approval at the Board of Directors meeting at Community Bank of Elmhurst (330 West Butterfield Road) on Tuesday, October 9, at 7:30 p.m.
Chamber members will receive sealed ballot in the mail within five business days of Board approval, and those ballots must be returned to the Chamber within eight business days of the ballot date.
2001 Fall Luncheon
Illinois Lieutenant Governor Corinne Wood will deliver the Keynote Address at the Chamber’s 2001 Fall Luncheon at the Midwest Conference Center, 401 West Lake Street, Northlake, on Wednesday, October 17, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Cost is $30.00 per person.

United Way of Elmhurst (100 South York Street, Room 224) launched its 72nd annual local fundraising drive this week. The $300,000 campaign will feature the 5th Annual Restaurant Days on prearranged Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays in October and November. Elmhurst College (190 Prospect Avenue) will host its annual Latino/Latina Heritage Celebration from September 20 through October 20, highlighted by the 6th Annual Cesar E. Chavez Guestship Lecture delivered by prominent author and financial advisor Charles Gonzalez in the Founders Lounge of the Frick Center on Thursday, October 4, at 7:00 p.m.
