Annual Meeting/Silent Auction, plus Elmhurst Jaycees Casino Night
The Chamber will host its Casablanca-themed 2004 Annual Meeting/Silent Auction plus Elmhurst Jaycees Casino Night Benefit for the American Cancer Society’s 2005 Relay For Life in the new Waterford Banquet Room (a.k.a. Rick’s Cafй) at the Holiday Inn Express (933 South Route 83) on Tuesday, November 23, from 5:30 to 10:00 p.m.  The Silent Auction, Casino Night and complimentary “Taste of Elmhurst” dining open at 6:00 p.m., following our 30-minute Annual Meeting.  Members can promote their business by donating to the Silent Auction and Casino Night Raffle Prizes, and/or contributing to the “Taste of Elmhurst.”  Letters of Transit are free to all Chamber members, Jaycees and their guests.

Business After Hours
Korzenowski Design (266 West Lake Street) will host the Chamber’s Business After Hours on Thursday, October 28, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.

Unique Travel Service (150 North York Street) will host the Chamber Business After Hours on Thursday, November 4, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.

Fall Luncheon
Identity theft/fraud expert Sharon Gachitorena, Financial EducationCordinator, State of Illinois Treasurer’s Office, will be the Keynote Speaker at the Chamber’s annual Fall Luncheon at the Diplomat West Banquet Halls (681 West North Avenue) on Friday, November 12, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.  Cost is $30.00 per member.  RSVP to the Chamber office by Tuesday, November 9.

Office Equipment Company (900 North Church Road) and OnlyOne (205 East Butterfield Road, #199) will co-host the Chamber’s Membership Breakfast at Office Equipment on Wednesday, November 10, from 8:00 to 9:00 a.m.

Newsmakers
Suburban Bank & Trust (150 Butterfield Road) has hired Mark Daniels of Wheaton, formerly Senior Vice President, Commercial Lending at Community Bank Wheaton-Glen Ellyn, and Daniel Weltz of Elmhurst, formerly Senior Audit Supervisor at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, to serve as Senior Vice President, Commercial Lending and Vice President/General Auditor, respectively.  Daniels is a Past President of the Glen Ellyn Economic Development Corporation’s Board of Directors and served on the Glen Ellyn Chamber of Commerce’s Board.

Doug Beach, Director of the Jazz Band and Jazz Studies at Elmhurst College (190 Prospect Avenue) has received an American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) Award in the areas of original composition and jazz performance for a 10th consecutive year.
