Business After Hours
Catalano Mortgage Group of American Home Mortgage (112 South York Street), along with Edward Jones Investments/Jeff McGinnis and La La Land will co-host the Chamber’s Pre-Elmfest 2005 Business After Hours on Thursday, June 9, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.

Elmfest 2005
The Chamber, City of Elmhurst (209 North York Street), Elmhurst Park District (225 Prospect Avenue), Elmhurst College (190 Prospect Avenue) and Elmhurst Jaycees (P.O. Box 235) will sponsor the 23rd Anniversary Elmfest in downtown Elmhurst from June 10-12.  Festival hours are 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday. The Jaycees Carnival starts Thursday, June 9, from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m.  The three-day festival boasts entertainment stages sponsored by Fifth Third Bank (City Centre) and Comcast (Addison); 80 food, business and not-for-profit booths, including the new Elmhurst City Centre Court; and free family attractions such as a climbing wall (Larry Roesch Chrysler-Jeep), SciTech Hands On! Membership Breakfast
Immanuel Lutheran Church (142 East Third Street), along with Ross Financial Group (125 Elm Street), will co-host the Chamber’s Membership Breakfast on Wednesday, June 1, from 8:00 to 9:00 a.m.

Memorial Day Parade
The Chamber, Elmhurst American Legion T.H.B. Post 187, Elmhurst Veterans of Foreign Wars Walter A. Glos Post 2048 and the City of Elmhurst will present Elmhurst’s 87th Annual Memorial Day Parade through downtown Elmhurst on Monday, May 30, starting at 9:30 a.m.  A Post-Parade Military Ceremony will be held at the Elmhurst Veterans Memorial in Wilder Park at around 11:30 a.m.  The Parade and Memorial will be videotaped for airing by “Elmhurst Our Kind of Town” on Channel 6 of Comcast throughout June.

Elmhurst Partners, a division of Elmhurst College’s School for Advanced Learning, announced the formation of the Elmhurst Life Skills Academy (ELSA), a four-year, inclusive program for high school graduates with significant learning, cognitive and developmental disabilities, starting in the fall of 2005.
