Business After Hours
Elmhurst Camera (535 Spring Road) and Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream (539 Spring Road) will host the Business After Hours on Thursday, May 20, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.  There will be a 6:15 p.m. drawing for a digital camera, one year of ice cream and 100 free prints.

Grand Opening

Newsmakers
The Elmhurst Jaycees (P.O. Box  235) hosted and won the first Northwest Regional Volleyball Tournament at the Elmhurst Family YMCA (211 West First Street) on April 24.  There was a post-tournament pizza party at Principe’s Pizzeria (426 North York Street).

Special Events
The Elmhurst Art Museum (150 Cottage Hill Avenue) will host the Transparent Watercolor Society of America’s 28th Annual Exhibition from May through September 5.  Call 834-0202 for more information.

People for Elmhurst Parks (P.O. Box1303) and Kiwanis Club of Elmhurst are sponsoring the 11th Annual Sugar Creek Open at Sugar Creek Golf Course (500 East Van Buren, Villa Park) on Friday, May 14.  The cost of $50.00 per person includes nine holes of golf, lunch and prizes.  Proceeds benefit the Elmhurst Park District’s Recreational Assistance Program.  Call 993-8924 for more info.

The York/Vallette Business Association, Elmhurst Park District and Elmhurst Chamber will host the annual Safety Town Bike-A-Thon on Saturday, May 15, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.

The Elmhurst Symphony Orchestra (P.O. Box 345) will perform its season finale in Hammerschmidt Memorial Chapel at Elmhurst College (190 Prospect Avenue) on Saturday, May 15, at 8:00 p.m.  Lanlan Geng, first-place winner in the annual Stanger Audition sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Elmhurst (P.O.
