Business After Hours
LaSalle Bank South, 1000 South York Street, will host the Chamber’s St. Patrick’s Day Business After Hours on Thursday, March 14, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Education Referendum
The College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn will ask District 502 voters in the March 19 election for approval of a referendum to increase the tax rate for the first time in 25 years.  If approved, the tax bill of the owner of a $200,000 home will increase an estimated $44 annually.  Call Nancy Haines, Community Affairs, at 942-3965 for more information.

Elmhurst Street Map
The new Chamber-sponsored Elmhurst Street Map, published by Village Profile, is now available in the Chamber office.  New to the map are legends designating business districts and the north Industrial Park.  It also features an overview of our community and ads from more than 70 businesses.  The map is free to Chamber members and $2.00 for non-members.

Newsmakers
The Morton Arboretum (4100 Illinois Route 53, Lisle) and Fine Gardening Magazine will cosponsor the Midwest Gardening Symposium this Friday and Saturday (March 15-16) from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  Gordon Hayward, garden designer and author, is the Keynote Speaker.  Registration is $188 for both days or $100 for one day, which includes lunches and refreshments.  Call 719-2468 for more information.

The Business and Professional Institute e-Business Information Center at the College of DuPage (425 Fawell Boulevard, Glen Ellyn) will conduct internet-related workshops titled “Doing Business Online (on a Shoestring Budget)” on Tuesday, March 19, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. and “Search Engine Optimization and Management” on Wednesday, March 20, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., both in Building K, Room 163.  The cost for each is $19.00 per person.  Call 942-4607 for further information.
