ELMHURST AMONG SEVEN CHAMBERS ‘BALANCING OUR BOOKS’
AT LUNCHEON WITH LASALLE BANK’S CHIEF ECONOMIST

ELMHURST, Ill, January 3, 2005 – Noted economic expert Carl Tannenbaum, Chief Economist at LaSalle Bank, will be the Keynote Speaker for a Business Luncheon co-sponsored by the Elmhurst Chamber of Commerce & Industry and six other area chambers at the Ashton Place, 341 75th Street, Willowbrook, on Friday, February 11, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.  His topic is titled, “Balancing Our Books.”

“This luncheon provides our members with an opportunity to hear an insider’s take on the economy and network with members from a half-dozen chambers from neighboring communities,” said John Quigley, President of the Elmhurst Chamber.

Sponsoring chambers include the Oak Brook Area Association of Commerce & Industry, Downers Grove, Lisle, Lombard and Woodridge chambers of commerce, and Westmont Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Bureau.  All but Oak Brook were sponsors in 2004, while Elmhurst and Westmont co-hosted the luncheon in 2003.

“More than 250 businesspeople, including 80-plus from Elmhurst, came together to hear Carl’s insights, so I expect we will exceed 300 this time around,” Quigley said.

Carl Tannenbaum, a Board Member of the National Association for Business Economics, is a sought-after speaker at conference and seminars across the country.  His Chicago office was torched in a recent high-rise fire.

Registration and networking begins at 11:30 a.m., with the London broil lunch service starting at 11:55 noon.

The cost is $25.00 per person for members of the sponsoring chambers.  Non-member cost is $30.00 per person.

RSVP by Friday, February 4, to the Elmhurst Chamber office by phone at (630) 834-6060 or via e-mail at info@elmhurstchamber.org.
