ELMHURST CHAMBER APPOINTS FORMER INTERN
AS TREASURER OF BOARD OF DIRECTORS

ELMHURST, Ill., December 15, 2004 – Former student intern Joe Skibbie, Marketing Coordinator at Community Bank of Elmhurst since 2000, was appointed Treasurer of the Elmhurst Chamber of Commerce & Industry this week.

Board Chairman Tom Cathcart, with the approval of the elected Directors, announced his one-year appointment of Skibbie as Treasurer at the Board of Directors’ regular monthly meeting held at the Chamber on Tuesday (December 14).

As Treasurer, Skibbie will serve on the six-member Executive Committee and chair the Ways and Means Committee, one of the Board’s four Standing Committees.

The Treasurer also reports to the Board monthly on the financial position of the Chamber and reviews the Chamber’s bank accounts on a quarterly basis. 

A first-term elected Director who was first appointed to the Board in 2003, Skibbie worked for the Chamber as a student intern during his senior year at Elmhurst College before being hired by Community Bank of Elmhurst.  He has served on the Chamber’s Marketing Committee for three years.

In 2003, Skibbie became a certified member of the Illinois Bankers Association.

Skibbie is a 2000 graduate of Elmhurst College, with a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing (philosophy minor), and has completed non-degree courses at the College of DuPage.

Active in the Elmhurst Community, Skibbie is a three-year member of the Elmhurst Jaycees, a leadership organization chartered as the Junior Chamber of Commerce, serving as Financial Vice President in 2003 and Membership Vice President in 2004.  He is a two-year member of the Elmhurst City Centre’s “Cool Kiddie Cars” Committee benefiting the Elmhurst Children’s Assistance Foundation (ECAF).
