Annual Mayoral Address
Elmhurst Mayor Thomas D. Marcucci will deliver his Annual “State of the City” Mayoral Address at the Chamber’s January Membership Breakfast hosted by Community Bank of Elmhurst (330 West Butterfield Road) on Tuesday, January 18, from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m.  Seating is limited to 150 and reservations are required.

Annual Meeting/Silent Auction
Synergistic Networks (180 West Park Avenue, Suite 210) received the 2004 A.J. “Toche” Terrones Business of the Year Award at the Chamber’s Annual Meeting/Silent Auction in the new Waterford Banquet Room at the Holiday Inn Express (933 South Route 83) on November 23.  Greg Jiede, President, Chief Executive Officer and Founder of the 11-year-old web design, development and hosting service, accepted the traveling trophy on behalf his employees.

Gloria Cassata, Account Executive in Display Advertising at The Elmhurst Independent (533 South York Street, Unit E), was named Ambassador of the Year.  The award was presented by Ambassador Chair Cathy Bajkowski, Financial Professional with The MONY Group (700 Commerce Drive, Suite 430, Oak Brook)

Outing Chairman Rich Rosenberg, Owner of Phototek Corp. (533 Spring Road), Elmhurst Camera (535 Spring Road) and Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream (539 Spring Road), presented his Chairman’s Award went to Chamber Executive Assistant Barb Savage.

The Elmhurst Jaycees (P.O. Box 235) raised nearly $1,500.00 from its Casino Night Fundraiser to benefit the American Cancer Society’s 2005 Relay For Life.

Business After Hours
The David Agency (385 North York Street) and Community Bank of Elmhurst will co-host the Chamber’s Annual Holiday Business After Hours at The David Agency on Thursday, December 16, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Chamber Anniversaries
The following businesses are celebrating Chamber Anniversaries in December:

Holiday Helpers

CARSTAR Elmhurst (180 West Lake Street) is donating a portion of the proceeds from each car repair between Thanksgiving and Christmas to The Salvation Army during its “Fix The Ding, Make the Bell Ring” Program.

Elm Creek Apartments (One Elm Creek Drive) won awards for Best Floor Plan in the Two Bedroom Category for its penthouse apartments and Best Community Amenities in the 301+ Category for its indoor pool, Jacuzzi, sauna, tanning spa, cyber wireless cafй, gourmet coffee/cappuccino bar, concierge service and convenience store at the Chicagoland Apartment Association’s 2004 CAMME Awards Banquet.

Frank Catalano Sr., Owner of Frank’s Real Estate (112 South York Street), received a 2004 Community Leadership Award at The Ray Graham Association for People with Disabilities’ Annual Holiday Luncheon on December 9.

Elene Cafasso, President of Enerpace, Inc., Executive and Personal Coaching (240 North Addison Avenue), announced the creation of her company’s new website, www.Enerpace.com, designed by Pete Czuchra of Cyber Com, Inc. (289 West Van Buren Stree).

Glynis Hutson, Owner of Elegant Impressions, received the 2004 Dorothy Penner Award for passion and Excellence in the Wedding Industry at the Association for Bridal Consultants Business of Brides Conference in Atlanta, Ga., in November.

Immaculate Conception High School (217 Cottage Hill) will receive 10 percent of a breakfast, lunch or dinner bill from Elmhurst Restaurant, 441 West Lake Street, now through February, if so requested by a parton.

Open House

Liberty Suburban Chicago Newspapers (709 Enterprise Drive, Oak Brook) and the Chamber are co-sponsoring the 16th Annual Bluejay Classic men’s basketball tournament in R.A.
