Susan Sanderson, Vice President of Housing at Lifelink (331 South York Road, Bensenville) was among 25 suburban businesswomen and executives recognized by The Business Ledger and the Chicago Chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners as “Influential Woman in Business” for 2003.  York Furrier (107 North York Street) was a sponsor.

Kathryn Salzano, Developer of Language Express (P.O. Box 1041) was among the advocates for early foreign language instruction to speak at the 2003 Fall Conference for the Illinois Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ICTFL) in Itasca from November 6-8.

Special Events
York Theatre and Elmhurst College will present a special screening of the fabled 1959 western, “The Magnificent Seven,” on Wednesday, December 10, at 7:00 p.m.  Dr. Michael Bell, Dean of the Faculty, will provide post-movie expert commentary.  Tickets are $10.00 for adults and $6.00 for students on any age.  Call 617-6186 for advance tickets or 617-3033 for more info.

December 19 is the application deadline (with $30.00 fee) for the Elmhurst Symphony Orchestra Association’s Dr. Robert Stanger Young Artists Audition, to be held on February 7, 2004, in Irion Hall at Elmhurst College (190 Prospect Avenue).  The competition is supported by the Kiwanis Club of Elmhurst (P.O. “State of the City” Mayoral Address
Elmhurst Mayor Thomas D. Marcucci will deliver his annual “State of the City” Mayoral Address at the Chamber’s Membership Breakfast hosted by Community Bank of Elmhurst, 330 West Butterfield Road, on Wednesday, January 14, from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m.  The event is sponsored jointly by the Chamber, Community Bank and Elmhurst Economic Development Corporation (EEDC).  Reservations are required and seating is limited to 150.
