REDESIGNED ELMHURST CHAMBER WEBSITE IS USER-FRIENDLY AND EASIER TO NAVIGATE

ELMHURST, Ill., September 9, 2004 – The Elmhurst Chamber of Commerce & Industry has redesigned its website, www.elmhurstchamber.org, to be more user-friendly and easier to navigate website.

Redesign of the Chamber website, which went on line September 1, was handled by Synergistic Networks (180 West Park Avenue, Suite 210) under the direction of the Marketing Committee chaired by First Vice Chair Tom Cathcart.  The Marketing Committee is one of four standing committees of the Chamber’s Board of Directors.

“When I joined the Chamber in 1999, we didn’t even have an internet presence,” said Chamber President John Quigley.  “SynNet helped us get on line in a couple of months and since 2000 we have improved and expanded the scope of our website.”

The website redesign features a new home page with a new “Keyword Search” function to reach beyond the “Member Search,” new quick-access “Restaurant Guide,” “Entertainment Guide” and “Retail Shopping” hyperlink icons, a “Street Map” hot button linking to the map of Elmhurst on the Village Profile website (www.villageprofile.com) and up-to-the-minute information on “Upcoming Events” and “New & Notes.”

Established in 1918, the Elmhurst Chamber of Commerce & Industry is a voluntary organization of business and professional men and women who have joined together to promote the civic and commercial progress of the community.

The Chamber also serves the needs of it members through services, programs and events that provide opportunities for networking and referral, business education, development and promotion, governmental representation and community involvement.
