ELMHURST, Ill., November 29, 2004 – Synergistic Networks, Inc. (180 West Park Avenue, Suite 210) was named A.J. “Toche” Terrones Business of the Year for 2004 at the Elmhurst Chamber of Commerce & Industry’s Annual Meeting/Silent Auction held at the Waterford Banquet Room at the Holiday Inn Express last Tuesday (November 23).

Greg Jiede, SynNet’s President, Chief Executive Officer and Founder, accepted the award on behalf of his 11-year-old web design, development and hosting service, and his employees.  Joining Jiede was one of SynNet’s website gurus, Joe Major, who serves on the Chamber’s Marketing Committee.

A Chamber member since its 1993 founding, SynNet provides website design and development, and e-commerce, e-mail and internet solutions for businesses and business associations, governmental agencies, not-for-profit organizations and other groups.

In October, SynNet was named to the 2004 Deloitte Chicagoland Technology Fast 50 as selected by representatives of Deloitee Touche LLP, The American Stock Exchange, LaSalle Bank and Gardner Carton & Douglas.  The company also was nominated for consideration in the Technology Fast 500 covering North America.

SynNet was re-certified as a Microsoft Certified Partner in 2004 as well.

This year, SynNet completed Phase IV development of the Chamber’s website
(www.elmhurstchamber.org) to make it more user friendly and easier to keep updated, and sponsored the Elmfest website (www.elmfest.org) for the third year in a row.

The award presentation was made by the outgoing Chairman of the Chamber’s Board of Directors, Rich Rosenberg, Owner of Phototek Corp. (533 Spring Road), Elmhurst Camera (535 Spring Road) and Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream (539 Spring Road), and Chamber President John Quigley.

Joining in the award presentation was Jack Island, Partner in The Silverado Grill (447 Spring Road), the 2003 Business of the Year recipient.  Island was given an acrylic Business of the Year plaque to put on permanent display at Silverado.

The company’s client list exceeds 200 businesses, including Chamber members such as Community Bank of Elmhurst, Cottage Hill Diamonds, DVD LLC, E.L. Foust, Meeder Industries, Plass Appliance & Furniture, Prairie Display, RMC Technical Services, Tivoli Enterprises (York Theatre) and Wide Scope Staffing Services.

In addition to the Chamber, SynNet’s not-for-profit clients include the Elmhurst Children’s Assistance Foundation (ECAF), former Elmhurst Economic Development Corporation (EEDC) and Elmhurst College.

The award, which features a traveling trophy and permanent plaque, is given to the member business that has best served the Elmhurst Chamber and the community.

It is named in memory of Toche Terrones, who served as Chamber President (formerly Executive Director) for nearly a decade until his death in July of 1999.

Previous Business of the Year honorees were Great American Exteriors (2002), Cardinal Cartridge, Inc. (2001), Unique Travel Service, Ltd. (2000) and Community Bank of Elmhurst (1999).

The traveling trophy of imported 24% German lead crystal atop a mahogany wood base will be displayed at Synergistic Networks until the 2005 Annual Meeting, while an award plaque with a nameplate listing Synergistic Networks is on permanent display at the Chamber office.

Established in 1918, the Elmhurst Chamber is a voluntary organization of business and professional men and women who have joined together for the purpose of promoting the civic and commercial progress of the community.

The Chamber also serves the needs of its members through services, programs and events that provide opportunities for networking and referral, business education, development and promotion, governmental representation and community involvement.
