Business After Hours
DVT, LLC (857 Larch Avenue) and Eclectic Cuisine & Hospitality Group (700 Commercial drive, 5th Floor, Oak Brook) will co-host the Chamber’s Business After Hours at DVT’s Elmhurst headquarters on Wednesday, August 11, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.

New Teachers Luncheon
The Chamber will sponsor its 14th Annual New Teachers Luncheon at the Diplomat West Banquet Halls (681 West North Avenue) on Thursday, August 19, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Teachers new to Elmhurst’s public and private school will be treated to lunch and given welcome bags filled with goodies donated by Chamber members. Cost is $25.00 per person, plus $25.00 more to sponsor a teacher. The reservation deadline is Friday, August 13, at 5:00 p.m.

Community Bank of Elmhurst (330 West Butterfield Road) announced that Chief Executive Officer William C. “Bill” Gooch Jr. has been named Chairman of the Board, succeeding the late George F. Hammersmith Sr., and Director George F. Hammersmith Jr. was named Vice Chairman.
Elmhurst College (190 Prospect Avenue) concluded its 2003-04 Fiscal Year with a fundraising total of $3.2 million—the fifth straight year above the $3 million plateau.
GO Promotions (348 Fair Avenue) will conduct its annual Client Show at the Holiday Inn-Willowbrook on Thursday, August 26 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The first 200 attendees receive a free baseball cap. To RSVP, call Chris at 530-8298.

Retired businessman and volunteer Howard Schreiber became the fifth recipient of the “Tee Off for Toche” Good Works Award at the Chamber’s 56th Annual Golf Outing at River Forest Country Club on July 26. B.E.A.R. Awards donated the award plaque.
