Brown Bag Lunch
Some 24 members filled the Chamber’s Conference Room on April 20 in the first of a series of Brown Bag Luncheons to learn about “Attracting Prospects to Your Website,” featuring expert panelists Pete Czuchra of Cyber Com (289 West Van Buren Street), Joe Major of Synergistic Networks (180 West Park Avenue, Suite 210), Todd Gallentine of MG Computer & Training (5510 Pershing Avenue, Downers Grove) and Todd Benson of Castco Communications (391 River Glen).

Illinois Business Summit
Chamber President John Quigley and Board of Directors’ Second Vice Chair Dare Messina of RE/MAX East-West (South Route 83) represented the interests of Elmhurst businesses at the Illinois Chamber of Commerce’s 2005 Business Summit in Springfield on April 13.  Among the public policy topics discussed were the Fiscal Year 2006 state budget, workers compensation reforms, both sides of the campaign for tax increases and reforms, revisiting the state’s Telecommunications Act and issues impacting small business, including tort reform legislation.

The West Suburban Philanthropic Network will present Chamber Director Ken Bartels, Vice President for College Advancement at Elmhurst College (190 Prospect Avenue), with its WSPN Award during the organization’s 3rd Annual Awards Luncheon at The Abbington Banquet Hall in Glen Ellyn on Wednesday, May 25, at 11:00 a.m.  The award recognizes his outstanding commitment to promote philanthropy and volunteerism in the western suburbs.  Ticket cost is $45.00 per person.  For more info, call Stephanie Walsh at 236-4264.

Synergistic Networks has transitioned all of its hosting and related internet services from its Network Operations Center in Elmhurst to a facility within the state-of-the-art AT&T Chicago area Global Internet Data Center in Lisle.

The Runner’s Soul (124 North York Street) has changed its name to Dick Pond Athletics after joining forces with the prominent retailer.

The 10th Annual Elmhurst College Walk for Hope:  In Memory of Claire Bartels, organized by the College’s Greek System to benefit the American Cancer Society (1801 South Myers Road, Suite 100, Oakbrook Terrace), will be held on the College Mall on Saturday, April 30.  Sponsors include the Elmhurst Jaycees (P.O.
