Brown Bag Lunch
Expert panelists Pete Czuchra of Cyber Com (289 West Van Buren Street), Joe Major of Synergistic Networks (180 West Park Avenue, Suite 210), Mattine Gallentine of MG Computer & Training (5510 Pershing Avenue, Downers Grove) and Todd Benson of Castco Communications (391 River Glen) will discuss “Attracting Prospects to Your Website” during a Brown Bag Lunch at the Chamber Conference Room on Wednesday, April 20, from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m.  Refreshments will be provided.  RSVP to the Chamber by Monday, April 18, at 5:00 p.m.

The following eight businesses and not-for-profits are celebrating Chamber Anniversaries in April:

5 Years—Salon Efthimia Day Spa (176 North York Street) and Doggie Diner (1591 Glen Ellyn Road, Glendale Heights).

Also, Stolper State Farm (447 North York Street), a Chamber member since 1967, is celebrating its 75th Anniversary since Co-owner Bob Stolper’s grandfather founded the business in 1930.  Last December, co-owner Don Stolper’s son, Brian, became the fourth generation of family to join the team.

Membership Breakfast
The Center for Speech and Language Disorders (195 West Spangler Avenue, Suite B) will host the Chamber’s monthly Membership Breakfast on Wednesday, April 20, from 8:00 to 9:00 a.m.

On Thursday, April 21, the CSLD will hold its annual Dinner and Awards Fundraiser at Stimac’s Restaurant, featuring the 9:00 p.m. drawing of the winning $10,000.00 “Help A Child Fund” Raffle ticket.  Call 530-8551 for more info.

Newsmakers

Great Clips for hair will hold its annual Great $8.99 Haircut Sale from April 20 through May 4 at both Elmhurst locations—York Street and Butterfield Road (758-0512), and York and North Avenue (941-1200).

Special Events
Elmhurst College (190 Prospect Avenue) and Special Kids Day will co-sponsored a Benefit Concert to rebuild the tsunami-ravaged Sambohoi Shelter in Galle, Sri Lanke, at R.A. Faganel Hall on Saturday, April 16, from 7:00 to 11:00 p.m.  Four bands, including the EC Jazz Band, and an improv troupe will perform.  The ticket cost of $25.00 per person or $40.00 per couple includes a buffet and two complementary beverages.  Call Laura at 617-5393 for more info.

The Rotary Club of Elmhurst (P.O. Box 147) will celebrate its 50th Birthday at its annual Scholarship Fundraiser at River Forest Country Club (15W468 Grand Avenue) on Friday, April 22, starting at 7:00 p.m.  Festivities include a Silent Auction and two $5,000.00 raffles.  Ticket costs are $55.00 per person or $500.00 for a table of 10.  Call Terry Elliott at 782-3720 for more info.

The 10th Annual Elmhurst College Walk for Hope:  In Memory of Claire Bartels, organized by the College’s Greek System to benefit the American Cancer Society (1801 South Myers Road, Suite 100, Oakbrook Terrace), will be held on the College Mall on Saturday, April 30.  Sponsors include the Elmhurst Jaycees (P.O. Spring Luncheon and Business Expo
The Chamber will celebrate those businesses that help our members market their goods and services at the “Salute to Marketing Professionals” 2005 Spring Luncheon at the Monty’s Elegant Banquets (703 South York Road, Bensenville) on Wednesday, April 27, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.  New is a mini-Business-to-Business Exposition for honorees and interested members.  Cost is $30.00 per person or $100.00 for a display table with lunch for two.  RSVP by Friday, April 22.
