Beautification Awards
The Elmhurst Economic Development Corporation (209 North York Street) and the Chamber will honor the City of Elmhurst and 10 businesses with 2002 Beautification Awards at Roberto’s Ristorante & Pizzeria, 487 Spring Road, on Wednesday, April 17, from 7:30 to 9:00 a.m.  A complimentary continental breakfast will be provided.  Chamber members Fitz’s Pub (172 North Addison Avenue), Jewel-Osco (153 Schiller Street), John Sakash Company (700 Walnut Street), KinderCare Learning Center (556 West North Avenue), Maddock Douglas (111 Adell Place), LaSalle Bank-South (1000 South York Street), McNally’s Irish Pub (122 South York Street), Roberto’s and the city are among the award recipients.

The Elmhurst Garden Club (P.O. Box 383) has received a $250 incentive grant from the National Garden Clubs, Inc., and Shell Oil for use on the new Children’s Prairie Garden at the Elmhurst Family YMCA (211 West First Street).

Leonard’s Fine Men’s Clothing (144 North York Street) announced new store hours as follows:  10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday, Tuesday and Friday; 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday and Thursday; and 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Friday.

Elmhurst residents John and Phyllis Carroll will be honored at the Elmhurst Jaycees’ (P.O. The Elmhurst Choral Union (P.O. Box 1493) will kickoff its 50th Anniversary season by performing Brahms’ Ein Deutcsches Requiem at Elmhurst College’s Hammerschmidt Memorial Chapel, 190 Prospect Avenue, on Sunday, April 21, at 3:00 p.m.  Ticket costs are $10.00 per adult and $7.00 for students and seniors.
