Dear Members:

In celebration of Chamber of Commerce Week in Illinois, the Elmhurst Chamber of Commerce & Industry will sponsor a month of networking and special events, stage our annual new member recruitment campaign and kickoff the public sales of our Elmhurst-Opoly board game.

At the request of the Illinois Chamber of Commerce, Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner has proclaimed September 10-14 as Chamber of Commerce Week in Illinois, while Elmhurst Mayor Steve Morley has issued a Mayoral Proclamation declaring September 10-16 as Chamber of Commerce Week in Elmhurst.

Established in 1918, the Elmhurst Chamber is a voluntary organization of business and professional men and women who have joined together for the purpose of “promoting an environment that creates success for local businesses and our community.”

Our Chamber also serves the needs of its members through services, programs and events that provide opportunities for networking and referral, business education, development and promotion, governmental representation and community involvement.

With nearly 600 members, our Chamber is the largest organization representing the interests of our businesses, and promoting commerce and industry throughout our community.

Our Chamber’s new member campaign, which runs through September, features a 16-month membership (good for all of 2019) at the annual cost.  Chamber membership starts at $325 per year for businesses with one or two employees, plus a $25 registration fee.  New members can pay Chamber dues monthly via direct debit or credit card.

This month, our Chamber also will sponsor its monthly Membership Breakfast and annual Open House (September 12), monthly Business After Hours (September 7) and “Networking on the 9s” 70th Annual Golf Outing (September 20).

Event registration can be done on-line at www.elmhurstchamber.org via the event calendar module, e-mail at info@elmhurstchamber.org or phone at 630-834-6060.

Elmhurst-Opoly Goes Public
Community Bank of Elmhurst (Main Branch and City Centre) and The Uptown Shop are the first of several commercial and retail locations across Elmhurst selling our Elmhurst-Opoly board game for $25 (retail sales tax included).  To date, 30 percent of the 1,000 games have been bought online, so make your purchase while quantities last.

Coinciding with our Chamber’s Centennial Celebration, Elmhurst-Opoly is designed to provide residents and visitors an entertaining and affordable way to enjoy our community for the next 100 years!!!

My Personal Thanks
Thanks to John DeVries of DeVries Animal Hospital on his care and compassion for Kenzie, my aging female black lab/coon hound mix rescue who passed away in my arms on her favorite blanket in the front of the big screen TV on August 30.  Miss you, girl.
