The Forest Preserve District of DuPage County is governed by an elected seven-member Board of Commissioners whose members represent one of six districts, with the City of Elmhurst in District 2, and a President elected by the county at large.
DuPage County Board
The County of DuPage is governed by an elected 19-member Board whose members represent six districts, with the City of Elmhurst in District 1 (north) and District 2 (south).
Park Board of Commissioners
The Elmhurst Park District is a separate property tax-levying governing unit under the leadership of a seven-member Board of Commissioners whose community-elected members serve six-year terms.
Library Board of Trustees
The Elmhurst Public Library is governed by a nine-member citizen Board of Trustees whose members are appointed for three-year terms beginning July 1 by the Mayor with the consent of the Elmhurst City Council.
