Under the umbrella of Leadership Elmhurst, the Chamber provides a wide range of learning opportunities—Brown Bag Lunches, Character Counts in Elmhurst and Educational Partnerships among them—for business growth, professional development and personal enhancement.

Professional Speaker Speakers

Developed in 2011 from the Brown Bag Lunch & Learns (2005-10), the Professional Speakers Series allows members to share their expertise in a given field (i.e., website development, marketing, benefits) with fellow members in a learning, non-sales-call environment.

The $250 presenter’s fee covers the cost of room rental, food and beverages, event marketing and registration.

To accomodate busy work schedules, time slots of 8 a.m., 11:45 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. are available each of four designated presentation days.
Character Counts in Elmhurst

Typically a school-based initiative, but adopted throughout Elmhurst in 2003, Character Counts is a national coalition whose mission is to establish a framework for ethical decision making in our educational, civic and business lives through the promotion of the six pillars of character—Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring and Citizenship.

The Chamber, as a Character Counts in Elmhurst partner, encourages members to be “citizens of good character” in their business dealings with customers and clients, as well as employees, co-workers and superiors.

Educational Partnerships

In an effort to create unique learning experiences for our membership, the Chamber continually works to develop educational partnerships with governmental agencies, institutions of learning, chambers of commerce, business associations, not-for-profit organizations and member businesses.

The multi-chamber luncheons in February (Economic Outlook) and March (Keynote Speaker) and the multi-chamber Business-to-Business Expo in October all feature educational components.
