Annual Meeting/Silent Auction
The Chamber will conduct its Annual Meeting 2003/Silent Auction at Monty’s Elegant Banquets (703 South York Road, Bensenville) on Tuesday, November 18.  The 30-minute Annual Meeting begins at 5:30 p.m.  The Silent Auction and “Taste of Elmhurst” runs from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.  Food will be provided compliments of a dozen Chamber restaurants, with the Chamber providing non-alcoholic beverages.  A cash bar is available.

Chamber members and their families, guest, employees and clients are FREE to attend.

Members can promote their business to hundreds of people with a Silent Auction donation of good and/or services (or those of fellow Chamber member or client) at any of three levels— $99.99 and under, $100.00 to $499.99, $500.00 and over.  To donate, call the Chamber office at 834-6060 no later than Friday, November 14.

The Chamber is seeking a dozen to 15 restaurants, pizzerias, sandwich shop and delis to provide food samples to serve a minimum of 50 people.  “Taste of Elmhurst” vendors are encouraged (but not required) to staff their food table.  To participate, vendors must register no later than Friday, November 7.

Business After Hours
The David Agency (385 North York Street) will host the Chamber’s Annual Holiday Business After Hours on Thursday, December 18, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.

Membership Breakfast
Country Inn & Suites (777 East Grand Avenue, Bensenville) will host the Chamber’s Membership Breakfast on Wednesday, December 10, from 8:00 to 9:00 a.m.

For the second year in a row, Cardinal Cartridge (211 Spangler Avenue) has been named one of America’s entrepreneurial growth leaders by Inc. magazine in its October issue that lists the top 500 fast-growing companies in the country.  Cardinal ranked No. 339 with a growth percentage of 540 in the past five years based on sales of $2.15 million in 1998 to $13.72 million in 2002.

Red Ribbon/Character Counts Kickoff on Cable
Sponsored by the Chamber’s Drug-Free Workplace Program, the Kickoff Breakfast for Red Ribbon Week and Character Counts in Elmhurst will air on “Elmhurst Our Kind of Town” on Channel 6 on Comcast throughout November on Mondays at 4:00 p.m. and Saturdays at 8:00 p.m.

The District 205 Foundation for Educational Excellence (130 West Madison Street), in conjunction with RGL Marketing for the Arts (186 Grace Avenue), will present the 1st Holiday Art Faire, a juried show of fine crafts, at York Community High School’s Courtyard Commons, 355 West St. Charles Road, on Saturday, November 15, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sunday, November 16, from 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m.  Admission is $5.00 per person.  Call Barb Szczepaniak at 617-2328 for more info.
