ELMHURST, Ill., December 30, 2003 – As part of a new program of monthly member promotions, the Elmhurst Chamber of Commerce & Industry is encouraging residents, businesspeople, visitors and tourists to patronize our nearly 50 member businesses in the banking, insurance and investment services in January.  The Chamber’s monthly promotion coincides with the start of the new calendar year.

“The residents of Elmhurst enjoy a wide range of banks, investment firms and insurance companies capable of satisfying all of their personal, family and business financial needs,” said John R. Quigley, President of the Elmhurst Chamber.

The Chamber boasts 14 banks with 19 locations serving the Elmhurst Community, along with one credit union and one finance company.

Community Bank of Elmhurst, which has two locations in Elmhurst (330 West Butterfield Road and 133 North York Street), is sponsoring the annual “State of the City” Mayoral Address featuring Elmhurst Mayor Thomas D. Marcucci as the Keynote Speaker at the Chamber’s Membership Breakfast on January 14.  The program will be taped for rebroadcast on “Elmhurst Our Kind of Town” on Channel 6 of Comcast during February.

Fifth Third Bank (105 South York Street), Community Bank of Elmhurst, LaSalle Bank (1000 South York Street and 205 North Addison Avenue), US Bank (536 South York Street and 513 Spring Road) and Bank One (136 North York Street) are all corporate sponsors of Elmfest, the Chamber’s three-day community festival held in June.

Like Community Bank, LaSalle Bank and US Bank, Charter One Bank (100 Addison Avenue and 590 South York Street) and Suburban Bank & Trust Company (150 East Butterfield Road and 400 West Lake Street) also have two locations in town.
