Health Insurance Seminar
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Elmhurst Chamber and Elmhurst College (190 Prospect Avenue) co-hosted a Health Insurance Coverage Seminar for Small Business in the Illinois Room at the College’s Schaible Science Center on May 6, as part of a the nationwide Cover the Uninsured Week program. Memorial Day Parade
The City of Elmhurst (209 North York Street), Elmhurst American Legion THB Post 187 (310 West Butterfield Road), Elmhurst Veterans of Foreign Wars Walter A. Glos Post 2048 and Chamber are co-sponsoring the 86th Annual Memorial Day Parade in downtown Elmhurst on Monday, May 31, starting at 9:30 a.m.

Newsmakers
Elmhurst Community Unit School District 205 (130 West Madison Street) named Diana Smith Mueller as the new Principal at York Community High School (355 West St. Charles Road). She has served as York’s Assistant Principal for Curriculum & Instruction since 1999.
Elmhurst Police Chief Steve Neubauer spoke to students at Kinder Castle Early Care and Education Center (212 West Lake Street) in celebration of Week of the Young Child (up to age 8) from April 18-24. For Children’s Memorial Day on April 23, the center joined the Child Welfare League of America in calling for an immediate cessation of violence against children and youth in America.
The Morton Arboretum (4100 Route 53, Lisle) has been named a recipient of the National Arbor Day Foundation’s Celebration Award for 2004.
The Elmhurst Jaycees (P.O. Box 235) won 10 awards 1st Quarter 2004 Northwest Region Jaycees Meeting in May, including Outstanding Chapter for both the month of January and the 1st Quarter. Eight individuals award were won, including Bill Schelinski as Outstanding President for the 1st Quarter.

Phil Ponce, anchor of Chicago Tonight on WTTW Channel 11, will deliver the Elmhurst College Spring Commencement Address on the College Mal on Sunday, May 30, at 2:00 p.m.
