FAMILY STEAK FRY AND NEW MEMBER CAMPAIGN HIGHLIGHT ELMHURST CHAMBER OF COMMERCE WEEK
ELMHURST, Ill., August 20, 2004 – The Elmhurst Chamber of Commerce & Industry will celebrate Chamber of Commerce Week in Elmhurst from September 13-19 with a month-long mix of special events and its annual new member campaign.
The Chamber’s new member campaign, which will run through September, features a 16-month membership (good through 2005) at the annual cost. Chamber membership starts at $205.00 per year for businesses with five employees or less. For more information, contact Member Advocate Ann Palumbo at 834-6060.
“With more than 620 members, the Elmhurst Chamber is the largest organization representing the business interests of our members, and promoting commerce and industry throughout our community,” said Chamber President John Quigley.
Elmhurst Mayor Thomas D. Marcucci has issued a Mayoral Proclamation declaring September 13-19 as Chamber of Commerce Week in Elmhurst.
During Chamber week, Quigley will inform new members and update interested members on the Chamber’s varied programs, events and services during his bi-monthly Executive Briefing, and Elmhurst will participate for the first time in a multi-chamber Business After Hours at The Morton Arboretum.
The Executive Briefing will be held at the Chamber office, 113 Adell Place, on Wednesday, September 15, from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. Lunch will be provided. RSVP to the Chamber at (630) 834-6060 by Friday, September 10.
The Business After Hours will be held at The Morton Arboretum, 4100 Illinois Route 53, Lisle, on Thursday, September 16, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Representing the Elmhurst Chamber, All Things Elegant (102 West Second Street) and Eclectic Cuisine & Hospitality Group (700 Commercial Drive, 5th Floor, Oak Brook) will be among the caterers donating food and beverages at the multi-chamber event.
In celebration of the last day of summer, Holiday Inn Elmhurst and The Elmhurst Independent will co-sponsor the Chamber’s 2004 Family Steak Fry at the Holiday Inn’s Holidome, 624 North York Street, on Tuesday, September 21, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. The Silverado Grill (447 Spring Road) will cater a steak (or chicken) dinner at a cost of $15.00 per adult, while children/grandchildren will eat hamburgers or hot dogs for free. Beverages will be provided compliments of The Elmhurst Independent.
The Holidome features a swimming pool, basketball court, volleyball court and video arcade—all in the climate-controlled comfort of the indoors.
The month-long mix of special events will conclude with the Chamber’s Membership Breakfast hosted by Easter Seals DuPage, 830 South Addison, Villa Park, on Tuesday, September 28, from 8:00 to 9:00 a.m.
Starting September 7 and ending September 21, Chamber members and their employees are eligible to sign up for an exclusive joint membership to both the Elmhurst Park District’s Courts Plus and the Elmhurst Family YMCA. Enrollment is only available by appointment during designated two-week periods.
The Premier Membership is a unique partnership that offers employees of Chamber members and their families the benefits of membership at both Courts Plus and the YMCA for a single monthly payment. Families must present proof that one member of the immediate family is employed by a Chamber member.
