The Elmhurst Chamber of Commerce and Industry, aligning with the United States Chamber of Commerce, has signed a letter to Congress urging federal lawmakers to preserve the B-SALT deduction to prevent a hidden tax increase on American businesses.

On February 18, the United States District Court for the Eastern District in Texas lifted the injunction that was preventing the U.S. Department of Treasury’s Finance Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) from enforcing Beneficial Ownership Information Reporting (BOIR) requirements under the Corporate Transperancy Act (CTA) of 2024.

The December 2024 jobs report, the last before President-elect Donald J. Trump takes office, reveals a labor market that is much tighter than it was eight years ago before President Trump first took office, but depending on the data point, not quite as tight as it was just before the pandemic, the United States Chamber of Commerce is reporting.
