The Forest Preserve District of DuPage County is sending a variety of items to the online auction block at govdeals.com/dupageforest with staggered bidding periods in June and July.

Items include a 2003 Ford Explorer XLS, an ASV Posi-Track RC100 compact track loader, two Mercury outboard motors, two air-conditioning recovery systems, a Yamaha piano with a bench, two wooden pews, and various outdoor and maintenance equipment. Photos and item details are included in the online bid postings.

To view items in person at the Forest Preserve District’s Fleet Services facility, interested bidders must schedule appointments weekdays between 7 a.m. and 2 p.m. by calling 630-580-7100. More information on surplus items and auctions is posted at dupageforestauction.com.

“By changing to online auctions, we’ve been able to bring in more money by reaching a wider audience of potential buyers and commanding higher prices,” says Mike Webster, manager of the District’s fleet services division. “And by selling smaller groups of items throughout the year, we’ve been able to greatly reduce staff time and administrative costs.”

The Forest Preserve District of DuPage County owns and manages 25,000 acres of prairies, woodlands and wetlands. Each year its 60 forest preserves, 145 miles of trails, five education centers and scores of programs welcome over 4 million visitors. For information, call 630-933-7200 or visit dupageforest.org, where you can also link to the District’s e-newsletter, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and YouTube pages.
