County Commits $7M To Reinvest DuPage Small Business Relief
DuPage County announced on May 12 the launching of Reinvest DuPage, a grant relief program developed in partnership with Choose DuPage for small businesses and independent contractors. The program will provide grants to sustain some businesses impacted by COVID-19.
Elmhurst Mayor Wants Regional Shift To Restore Illinois
In a May 11 letter to Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker, City of Elmhurst Mayor Steve Morley requested that Elmhurst and DuPage County be removed from the Northeast Region (with Cook County and the City of Chicago) within the five-phase Restore Illinois plan in order for local businesses to open earlier than the late June projection or possible later.
Fix Restore Illinois Plan To Save Restaurants: IRA
The Illinois Restaurant Association (IRA) on May 7 called on Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker and the Illinois General Assembly to modify the Governor’s five-phase Restore Illinois plan to allow restaurants and bars to resume their dine in service in a limited capacity during Phase 3.

WorkNet DuPage Offers IDCEO Essential Business Grants
The Illinois Department of Commerce & Economic Opportunity (IDCEO) has made some funds available for WorkNet DuPage and counterpart offices throughout Illinois to prevent essential, small businesses from laying off or furloughing employees, with the amount that can be awarded per company from $5,000 up to $50,000.
