100th Annual Elmhurst Memorial Day Parade

More than 90 entries marched in Elmhurst’s 100th Annual Memorial Day Parade through downtown Elmhurst on May 28, as presented by the Elmhurst Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Elmhuryst American Legion THB Post 187, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2801, the City of Elmhurst and Elmhurst Park District.

Members of the Elmhurst Chamber of Commerce & Industry, also celebrating its 100th Anniversary in 2018, carry parade presentation banners in advance of the combined Elmhurst Police and Fire Department Color Guard.

A pair of Beechcraft T-34s flown by members of the Lima Lima flight team perform a variety of fly-overs in the skies above.

President Abraham Lincoln makes a special appearance in the parade between a contingent of Union troops (Illinois 46th Volunteer Infantry) and the Elmhurst Heritage Foundation/Elmhurst History Museum and at the Post-Parade Military Ceremony at the Veterans Memorial in Wilder Park.
