The purpose of the Elmhurst-Yorkfield Food Pantry is for the charitable distribution of food for the relief of hunger to our neighbors in need residing in Elmhurst and surrounding communities, including Addison, Bensenville, Berkeley, Hillside, Lombard, Oak Brook and Villa Park.
From a closet, to the basement of a cottage, all the way to a spacious new facility, the Food Pantry has come a long way in 35 years. Debt-free thanks to more than 500 donors, the new 2,500-square-foot building has separate areas for client shopping and food storage, and the facility complies with local building codes and ADA accessibility standards. A bright reception area provides warmth and a place to sit for clients.
