With the Elmhurst Chamber of Commerce and Industry among 580 supporting signatories, the United States Chamber of Commerce’s Institute for Legal Reform (ILR) today sent a coalition letter to U.S. Congress members urging them to consider including targeted and temporary liability protections in the next Coronavirus (COVID-19) Pandemic relief package.

The one-page letter points out that—as U.S. President Joseph R. Biden’s Administration strives to reopen schools, protect our nation’s health and strengthen our economy—liability protections will help safeguard educational institutions, healthcare providers, businesses and non-profit organizations from unfair lawsuits.

The Illinois Chamber of Commerce and Illinois Restaurant Association (IRA), along with chambers of commerce, business organizations and trade association across Illinois, joined ECCI in support of the U.S. Chamber’s legislative initiative.
