The Elmhurst Chamber of Commerce and Industry today (March 2) signed onto the United States Chamber of Commerce’s coalition letter urging the U.S. Congress to extend the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) application deadline from March 31 to December 31.

A deadline extension supports the latest federal enactment of Coronavirus (COVID-19) relief legislation back in December, the February 27 passage of the $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan in the U.S. House of Representatives and U.S. President Joseph R. Biden’s newly announced two-week initiative focusing PPP aid towards businesses with fewer than 20 employees.

The U.S. Chamber and coalition partners want to ensure that the segment of small businesses facing the greatest obstacles do not get left behind.
