ELMHURST, Ill., August 27, 2018 – In celebration of Chamber of Commerce Week in Illinois, the Elmhurst Chamber of Commerce & Industry will sponsor a month of networking and special events, stage our annual new member recruitment campaign and kickoff the public sales of our Elmhurst-Opoly board game.

At the request of the Illinois Chamber of Commerce, Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner has proclaimed September 10-14 as Chamber of Commerce Week in Illinois.

Mayoral Proclamation

Elmhurst Mayor Steve Morley has issued a Mayoral Proclamation declaring September 10-16 as Chamber of Commerce Week in Elmhurst.

Established in 1918, the Elmhurst Chamber is a voluntary organization of business and professional men and women who have joined together for the purpose of “promoting an environment that creates success for local businesses and our community.”

The Chamber also serves the needs of its members through services, programs and events that provide opportunities for networking and referral, business education, development and promotion, governmental representation and community involvement.

“With nearly 600 members, the Elmhurst Chamber is the largest organization representing the interests of our businesses, and promoting commerce and industry throughout our community,” said John Quigley, ECCI President and CEO since 1999, the longest tenured chamber executive serving in DuPage County.

Elmhurst-Opoly Sales Soaring

As part of the its100th Anniversary in 2018, the Chamber produced an Elmhurst-Opoly board game, which in September will go on sale for $25 (retail sales tax included) at select retail and commercial locations across Elmhurst.  Of the 1,000 Elmhurst-Opoly games manufactured, 100 were given to the 50-plus businesses and organizations as part of  75 sponsorship opportunities, while another 200 games have been purchased online via a link on the home page of the Chamber’s website.

New Member Campaign

The Chamber’s new member campaign, which runs through September, features a 16-month membership (good for all of 2019) at the annual cost.  Chamber membership starts at $325 per year for businesses with one or two employees, plus a $25 registration fee.  New members can pay Chamber dues monthly via direct debit or credit card.  For more information, contact President and CEO John R. Business After Hours

On Friday, September 7, Livia Italian Eatery will host the Chamber’s monthly Business After Hours from 4 to 6 p.m., in conjunction with the start of Elmhurst City Centre’s Fifth Annual Rock the Block Party in downtown Elmhurst.  Complimentary food and beverages will be provided to Chamber members and guests.

Membership Breakfast/Open House

On September 12, our Chamber will host the monthly Membership Breakfast in the DeForest Dance Academy Building at 300B West Lake Street, starting at 8 a.m.  DeForest Creative Group is an Event Sponsor.  Complimentary food and beverages will be provided to Chamber members and guests.

The Chamber’s Open House at 300A West Lake Street, Suite 201, follows the Membership Breakfast from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Golf Outing

The Chamber will stage its 70th Annual Golf Outing, “Networking on the 9s,” at Sugar Creek Golf Course in Villa Park on Thursday, September 20, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.  The cost of $100 per person includes nine holes of golf, cart, deli luncheon buffet, complimentary beverages, premium giveaway and more.
