ELMHURST, Ill., November 21, 2018 – The Elmhurst Chamber of Commerce & Industry Board of Directors elected three officers and approved one appointment for its six-member Executive Committee for 2019 at its regular monthly meeting held November 20 in the Hammersmith Community Room at Community Bank of Elmhurst (330 West Butterfield Road).

Elected to serve one-year terms on the Executive Committee were:

Chairperson—Kevin Kost, Financial Advisor with Edward Jones Investments (925B South York Street).

First Vice Chairperson— Lori Murray, Vice President and Regional Manager at Inland Bank (539 Spring Road).

Second Vice Chairperson—Desiree Chen, Senior Director, Communications and Extrenal Relations, at Elmhurst College (190 Prospect Avenue).

Appointed to serve a one-year term on the Executive Committee was:

Treasurer—Ralph Pechanio, Chair of the City of Elmhurst’s Veterans Memorial Commission, former community banker and long-time Chamber volunteer.

Kost, Murray, Chen and Pechanio will be joined on the Executive Committee by Immediate Past Chair Ken Bartels, Senior Vice President and Director at Community Bank of Elmhurst (330 West Butterfield Road and 133 North York Street) and Principal and Owner at Ken Bartels Consulting (Elmhurst), and ex-officio member John R. Quigley, Chamber President and CEO since 1999.

Kost will work closely with the Chamber staff and oversee the policy-making work of the Chamber Board and its four standing committees (Marketing, Membership, Ways and Means, and Governmental Affairs), as well special committees and task forces—including completion of the Centennial Celebration Committee’s activities related to this year’s 100th Anniversary.

Chen, Murray and Pechanio will serve as Chairs of the Marketing, Membership and Ways and Means committees, respectively, while Quigley chairs the Governmental Affairs Committee.

As First Vice Chair, Murray would normally chair the Marketing Committee, but instead she will serve as Membership Committee Chair for a second year to work closely with newly-hired Director of Member Services Mariella Mastromauro as the Chamber transitions to three tiers of annual dues (from employee-based) with two sponsorship levels.

As Second Vice Chair, Chen would normally chair the Membership Committee, but instead she will serve as Chair of the Marketing Committee, on which she has served for many years.
