ELMHURST PUBLIC LIBRARY
The “Cultural Campus” adjacent to downtown Elmhurst features both public and private libraries—Elmhurst Public Library (established 1912) in Wilder Park and A.C. Buehler Library at Elmhurst College—situated along Prospect Avenue nearly kitty-corner to each other.

Both libraries are members of the Metropolitan Library System (MLS), which gives MLS card-carrying patrons privileges at academic, public, school, and special libraries in Chicago and in the suburban communities of Cook, DuPage and Will counties.

The Friends’ purpose is to maintain an association of persons interested in the library; to increase the library’s facilities and services; to secure materials beyond the scope of the library’s operating budget to enrich the cultural opportunities available to residents.
